Shelbey S. Roberts is an award-winning writer and passionate storyteller who has been captivating audiences with her news anchoring, reporting, production style and voiceover work since 2011. Shelbey found her love of broadcast journalism as a student at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. There, she was an award-winning news reporter and producer for the campus' student-run television station, WOLV-TV.
Currently, Shelbey serves as the dynamic morning anchor of Live 5 News (WCSC) in Charleston, SC. Previously, she has worked in Myrtle Beach, SC, Savannah, GA and Central Illinois. Most notably, Shelbey earned an Emmy nomination, a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for “Excellence in Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, the “Best TV Anchor”, “Best Multicultural Reach” awards from the Illinois Broadcasters Association, and was named one of Peoria Magazine’s “40 Leaders Under Forty”.
Shelbey is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. In her spare time, she regularly serves as a reading tutor, youth mentor and food bank volunteer.
While keeping with her signature smile, Shelbey enjoys connecting with others in an effort to learn more about them and the world around her.
